Freedom from the Veil
Paul ends his defence with a claim so ordinary it is easy to walk past: we all. Not some. Not a chosen few. Everyone born of God, with an unveiled face.
1Moses became a veil.The glory on his face was real. But the people met it through a man, and with every visit they stood further off. What began as protection settled into a habit of distance.
2Veils attach to persons, places and times.A prophet you must reach. A mountain you must climb. An hour you must keep. Each one puts a third party between a soul and God.
3In Christ every veil is torn.The one in the temple was torn from the top. The ones we keep have to be let go.
“And we all, with unveiled face, beholding the glory of the Lord, are being transformed into the same image from one degree of glory to another.” — 2 Corinthians 3:18
